Prec-5in-Sho-ike Dome |
The Prec-5in-Sho-ike Dome is specially designed for use with the Sigma 15mm
and Nikon 16mm very wide, fisheye lenses.
The nodal point for each of these lenses is very close to the camera. So close,
in fact, that even using the shortest ikelite port body results in vignetting
(dark corners because the lens is seeing the port body).
Our design for the Prec-5in-Sho-ike is different from the other Precision 5”
Domes so that it does not vignette with full frame or cropped frame cameras.
This was accomplished by integrating the port body into the dome. Because of the
short distance between the housing and the dome, the shade has also been
integrated into the assembly.
Because the port is already a part of the dome, it is not compatible with the
ikelite modular system and a tele-converter cannot be used.
